Confident Marketing
The amount of confidence a person displays in their products and their company does wonders to increase a customers trust in them.
Id say that confidence is one of those difficult things to pinpoint when it comes to a sales pitch because you cant really say exactly what you need to do in order to act confident. Being arrogant isnt always the same as being confident in what youre doing and you cant always rehearse confidence because a lot of it is going to deal with how you happen to act in any given moment.
So what can you do? The best bet is to be sure that youre confident in what youre doing and what you know and from there youll naturally have a strong confidence when actually selling your product.
In order to develop this confidence be sure that you study up on and research everything you can about your company. No one wants to be asked a question they cant figure out an answer to. It kills confidence and it harms your chances of getting a sale especially if its a question you really should know the answer to.
Remember too that even if the customer doesnt really notice or care that much that you dont know a certain detail it will still always impress them more if you do know all of these things. Who doesnt like to be able to get every answer they want right there on the spot?
I would also make sure that whatever business cards you hand out are top notch as well. While a boring business card wont necessarily hurt a persons confidence if you have a nice custom business card to pull out that you just know is going to garner attention and interest isnt it that much easier to develop your confidence?
Id say that the business card is particularly helpful because it can add a nice end to your conversation. The strong custom business card acts as a truly confidence end to your interaction with the person. You can feel confidence because you know your card will make a splash and the person walks away with that image of confidence in their mind.
The trouble with confidence often comes from the fact that you dont want to over do it and it isnt that easy to just say youre going to be confident. Thats why strong preparation and strong knowledge of your area will be the only real way I can think of to make sure that you can almost plan out your confidence.
Just remember that how you say something can sometimes be just as important as what you have to say. A confident demeanor shows people that you know what youre talking about and that they can trust you with their business.
